Coaches Bio

Head Coach Joy Knoblach
  • Married to Josh, have two boys Austin (3) and Mason (1)
  • Graduated from Anoka High School, 2 years varsity experience.  Was named All State Honorable Mention senior year.  Played in the all-star match my senior year.
  • Played two years of volleyball at Bradley University in Peoria, IL.  Was named offensive player of the year in both 1993 and 1994.  Was named Missouri Valley Honorable Mention in 1993 and 1994.  Is ranked 6th in all time hitting percentage.
  • Played two years of volleyball at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, MN.  Was named offensive player of the year in both 1996 and 1997.  1st team All-Northern Sun Conference 1996 and 1997.  Is ranked 6th in solo blocks in a season (1996).  Is ranked 5th in career solo blocks (1996-1997).
  • Was a student assistant at SMSU 1998-1999.
  • Was the head coach at Emmetsburg Community Schools in Emmetsburg, IA for two years 2002 and 2003 seasons. 
  • Have coached volleyball at Rogers High School in Rogers, MN for 5 years (2004-2008), at every level.  Has just been named Head Coach in Jan. ’09.
  • Have multiple years of JO coaching experience and camp coaching experience.
  • I am also an assistant track coach at Rogers High School.
  • I work at Rogers High School as the supervision assistant.

Assistant-Hollie Jeska

  • 1997 graduate of Champlin Park High School where I played both volleyball and basketball.
  • Attended St. Cloud State University from 1997-2000 and then continued at Concordia University in St. Paul.
  • Graduated from Concordia University in St. Paul in 2001 with a BA in Psychology.
  • Played volleyball at both SCSU and Concordia for a total of 5 seasons. I have college experience as both an outside hitter and a setter.
  • One year after graduating from college, I returned to Concordia University as an assistant volleyball coach. I coached for the Golden Bears for two years. 
  • In 2004, I began working at Rogers High School as a special education assistant.
  • Began coaching at Rogers High School in 2005, this will be my 5th season with the Royals.
  • Coached Junior Olympic Volleyball on and off for the past 11 years. Coached for Champlin Park, St. Michael-Albertville and Rogers juniors programs.
  • I work at Rogers High School as a Special Education teacher.
  • In my spare time I enjoy playing volleyball and softball.

Assistant-Aleasha Williams

  • Married to Ryan (College Football Coach) and have a son Colton. 
  • We live in St. Michael, MN.
  • Played at Elk River High School, Middle Hitter
  • Played at South Dakota State University, Middle Hitter
  • Coached for 9 years; Student Assistant Coach at South Dakota State (3 yrs), High Plains Elite 18's Coach, Brookings 8th grade coach, Rogers High School 10th grade, Club Velocity 15's, 14's, 17's, Rogers High School 9A.
  • I work as a sales representative

Assistant - Sarah Trushenski
  • Newly engaged to Dave Trushenski, and getting married in July! We have a son named Lincoln who is just over one year old.
  • I work at the Elk River High School as an Intervener for a DeafBlind young man.
  • This year will be my 5th year coaching volleyball at Rogers High School.  Coaching in almost all positions.
  • I am currently going to coach track for the Elk River Middle School.
  • I played volleyball for Elk River for 4 years, graduating in 2000.  Was named all conference in 10th, 11th and 12th grade.

  • Was named to the All North Central Region Tournament in 2002
  • Was named to the All North Central Conference in 2001, 2002, 2003
  • In 2001, 2002, 2003 was first in NCC blocks per game
  • Am currently the MSU career assist block leader with 450
  • Played a total of 423 games at MSU
  • 2001, 2002, 2003 NCAA playoff appearance
  • 5th in career kills at MSU with 1116
  • While playing for the MAVS my main studies were in Communication Disorders, and psychology.  Then I transferred to Saint Cloud State University after playing volleyball and received a BES in Communication Disorders and a minor in Psychology.
  • I am very happy and proud to call myself a Rogers Royal! And am looking forward to this new and exciting season.

Assistant-Ashley Yoss
 
  • Attending North Hennepin Community College for my business degree.
  • Graduated Rogers High School in 2008.
  • Played volleyball for 7 years.
  • Played for Roger’s varsity volleyball team for 3 years.
  • Position played was Libero. (Defense specialist)
  • In 2006, received All Conference Honorable Mention.
  • In 2007, was Captain for the Rogers varsity volleyball team and received All Conference Honorable Mention.
  • In 2008, head coach for the 9th grade B Team for Rogers High School.
  • 2008-2009, head coach for the Club Velocity 15 Power League team.

Assistant - Jessica Larson

  • Graduated in year 2000 from Menomonie High School where I lettered for four years in volleyball, basketball and track.
  • Played volleyball competitively for eight years.
  • Played one year of post-secondary volleyball at UWS
  • Graduated from WSU with a double major in Health Education and Physical Education.
  • Earned a Master’s Degree in Education from Saint Mary’s University
  • Currently teaching Health Education at Rogers Middle School.
  • Outside of teaching and volleyball I enjoy playing basketball, snowboarding and fishing.
